A spokesperson from the Freight Transport Department of CR explained that they have been diligently implementing the guiding principles from President Xi Jinping’s congratulatory message to the China-Europe Railway Express Cooperation Forum and his important speech at the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. Adhering to the principles of consultation, joint construction, and shared benefits, CR has strengthened domestic and international coordination and cooperation, continually driving the high-quality development of CRE trains. To expedite the construction of the CRE train corridor, the newly added second line of the Lanzhou-Xinjiang Railway from Jinghe to Alashankou officially began operations on November 30, increasing annual transportation capacity from 15 million tons to 60 million tons and reducing transportation time by 40 minutes. Continuous efforts to expand and increase tonnage have led to a 10% improvement in the train composition and traction capacity of CRE trains. The stable schedule-based operation of the CRE train, with transportation times reduced by over 20% compared to regular trains, has resulted in the opening of five routes by the end of November, gaining favor from both domestic and international customers. The official highlighted the steady operation of the CRE train portal website, providing comprehensive one-stop services, with over 4.67 million visits in just over two months. Efforts have been made to enhance port transportation organization and strengthen coordination with customs and border inspection departments, which significantly improved the clearance efficiency of CRE trains.
Emphasizing the sustained and substantial growth in the volume of CRE trains, the spokesperson underscored the positive trend in China’s foreign trade and economic stability. Looking ahead, CR aims to continue market-oriented development, enhance the transport capacity and service quality of CRE trains, build an international logistics brand, and further advance the development of CRE trains towards higher quality, better efficiency, and increased safety. These efforts are seen as a strong impetus to promote international economic and trade exchanges, enhance the well-being of people along the route, and provide robust support for the high-quality development of the “Belt and Road” Initiative.
