On the morning of November 28, accompanied by the resonant sound of the train’s whistle, the X8155 CRE train (Xi’an) departed slowly from Xi’anguojigang Railway Station, loaded with daily goods, fitness equipment, clothing, and more, heading to Hamburg, Germany. Since its inaugural run on November 28, 2013, the CRE train (Xi’an) has operated for ten years, completing a total of 20,897 trips. This accounts for approximately one-fourth of the total trips made by the CRE train nationwide, with key performance indicators such as trip volume, freight volume, and load rate ranking at the forefront of all routes.

In recent years, CR-Xi’an has adhered to “transforming the freight yard into a market, a processing base, and a cooperative platform.” By coordinating the functions of the Xi’anguojigang Railway Port in both the northern and southern regions, CR-Xi’an tries to build a modern railway logistics base integrating line positions, warehousing, processing, and distribution. Through three capacity expansion projects, the station’s loading and unloading capacity has increased by 30%, enabling whole-train loading and unloading and streamlined operations, with capacities improved in stocking, loading, unloading, and dispatching.

As of now, the station has a total of 59 railway lines, with a designed annual capacity to handle 5.4 million TEUs. This achievement has injected powerful momentum into facilitating the dual-circulation development pattern and supporting the high-quality construction of the “Belt and Road” Initiative.
